Bravo from Delaware!

From what I've seen in two you tube videos I hesitate to make major pronouncements, that being said he has a sensual stage presence, tons of squillo, a seemingly solid technique, a secure top, and besides Italian he sings well in French. I would very much like to see and hear more.

Er macht ja offensichtlich auch eine solide Karriere. Es gibt deutlich schlechtere Tenöre, die die Bühnen mit ihrem Gebrüll überziehen. Nur war vor 13 Jahren schon fraglich, ob er in die "Riege" der weltberühmten Tenöre gehört (also Pavarotti & Co). Denn bei den "großen" Tenören (Pavarotti, Domingo, Carreras, Corelli, del Monaco, Wunderlich, di Stefano usw.) war schon mit 29 Jahren die außergewöhnliche Qualität des Gesangs erkennbar. In dem Alter näherte sich di Stefano schon bald seinem Zenit, und Wunderlich hatte leider nur noch weitere 5 Jahre zu leben. Was will ich also sagen: es nützt nichts, Künstlern etwas anzudichten, fantastische Dinge für die Zukunft vorherzusagen und große Namen zu bemühen.

I love the Calixto Bieito production of Carmen -- and Andrea was terrific in the Christof Loy production of Tosca for the Finnish National Opera. There is nothing better than a tenor with a beautiful velvety voice AND expressive eyes.

Cet opéra, je l'écouterais jour et nuit. Un duo merveilleux, deux chanteurs exceptionnels qui me donnent des frissons. Bravo !

Elza Van den Heever est une chanteuse formidable et avec cela, une excellente comédienne (Elisabetta dans Maria Stuarda avec Joyce di Donato). Je connais moins bien Andrea Carè : sa voix est très agréable, un peu de dérapage mais sans gravité lorsqu'il va dans les aigus, mais ce n'est pas toujours le cas. José qui adore cet opéra fabuleux.
